Zweibrckers in the News
Zweibrckers have begun challenging the rankings previously dominated by the bigger registries in the sport horse breeding ring. From 2002 until 2006, the same ten Warmblood breeds dominated the USDF Breeders Championship series. In 2006, however, Zweibrckers moved strongly into the elite top ten ranked breeds, finishing in fourth place overall. In 2006 Solomon Farm's Zweibrcken stallion Der Graf (Donnerhall x Pik Koenig) finished 4th overall top sire in the USA of USDF/DSHB finalists.
In 2007, Marion Dresel O'Connor's strong showing in the USDF Sporthorse breeding ring propelled her to Reserve Champion USDF Sporthorse Breeder of the year (see below). Other successful Zweibrckers (RPSI registered horses) showing in USDF Sporthorse Breeding classes in 2007 include the 4th place USDF HOY weanling colt Dionysus (Donarweiss GGF x Golden Letters), owned by Christine Shea; and Lion King (Latimer x Harmonie), the RPSI approved Hanoverian stallion owned and shown by Craig Heckert of Rivervale Farm. Lion King was 2007 West Central USDF/DSHB Stallion Champion and finished #5 in the Nation for USDF/DSHB Stallions.
RPSI breeder Marion Dresel-O'Connor of Cocollala Creek Sporthorses brought home Reserve Championship honors in the USDF Sporthorse Breeder of the Year, based solely on her successes on the triangle with her home-bred RPSI horses.
Helping Marion earn her title were Rio Rio (Radikal x Hochkarat), Reserve Champion USDF Horse of the Year, and Champion RPSI All Breeds Awards yearling fillies; Rajani (Radikal x Fabiola), 4th place USDF HOY, Champion RPSI All Breeds weanling fillies; Rabenschwarz (Radikal x Hochkarat), 1st place USDF HOY yearling colts; Riskant (Radikal x EM Fiorenza), Reserve Champion RPSI All Breeds weanling colt; Wolkenkarat (Wolkenzauber x Hochkarat) 2nd place USDF HOY two-year-old fillies, Champion RPSI All Breeds.
